Bridge Over Troubled Waters, formed in the 1970 by educators, clergy and healthcare professionals, serves more than 4000 runaway, homeless and at-risk youth in Boston. Bridge focuses on overcoming substance abuse, emotional issues, and lack of skills, which have been barriers to independence. Young mothers reside in a Bridge House for Single Parents. The program works with young women on all aspect of their lives, including building a new future for themselves and their children. To this end, Lola Tortola has established a grant program to help these young mothers pursue a four year degree.

Lola Tortola got its name through its love of the Caribbean island of Tortola. We do sell spices and sauces from Tortola. Lola Tortola is also the name of a children’s lymric book written by friends and family.
